Health Vault: Personal Health Privacy Policy

Health Vault (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Health Vault mobile application.
Health Vault is designed to give you control of your personal health information. Your data belongs to you.
Information We Collect
Health Vault does not collect or store your personal health information on external servers.
All health data you enter — including:
- Profile information
- Medications
- Procedures
- Appointments
- Allergies
- Emergency contacts
- Notes
is stored securely on your device using Apple’s secure system frameworks.
We do not operate a remote database that stores your health information.
HealthKit Integration
If you choose to connect Health Vault to Apple Health (HealthKit):
- The app may read selected health data such as blood pressure, blood glucose, weight, height, or other metrics you authorize.
- Health data is accessed only with your explicit permission.
- Health Vault does not sell, share, or transmit HealthKit data to third parties.
- HealthKit data is used solely to display your information within the app.
Health data obtained from Apple Health will:
- Not be used for advertising.
- Not be shared with third parties.
- Not be sold.
- Not be used for marketing purposes.
You can revoke HealthKit permissions at any time in the Apple Health app.
FaceID / Device Security
Health Vault may use Face ID or device-level authentication (such as Touch ID or passcode) to protect access to your information.
Biometric data is handled entirely by Apple’s system frameworks.
Health Vault does not access or store your biometric information.
Notifications
If you enable reminders:
- Health Vault may schedule local notifications on your device.
- Notifications are generated locally and are not sent from external servers.
- No personal data is transmitted when notifications are scheduled.
You may disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s secure storage technologies.
If you use iCloud device backups, your data may be included in your encrypted device backup according to Apple’s backup policies.
We do not:
- Store your health information on our own servers
- Sell your data
- Share your data
- Use your data for advertising
In-App Purchasing
If you upgrade to a premium subscription:
- We only receive confirmation of your subscription status from Apple.
- Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple.
- We do not receive or store your payment information.
Children’s Privacy
Health Vault is not specifically directed toward children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Control
You can:
- Delete the app to remove locally stored data.
- Edit or delete your information at any time within the app.
- Remove HealthKit permissions in the Apple Health app.
- Remove Calendar permissions in iOS Settings.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves.
Updates will be reflected with a new “Effective Date” at the top of this page.
